Lois Woolley specializes in portraiture. Her professional training commenced at age 17 at the Corcoran School of Art, Washington D.C., and continued in New York City at the Art Students League. She has exhibited widely, receiving awards and honors in national shows, including the attainment of Fellowship status in the American Artists Professional League. Her work is represented by various agents and galleries, including Portraits, Inc. Her paintings are in collections throughout the United States and abroad. She has co-authored with Zhang The Yin-Yang of Painting, Watson-Guptill.
