Pia Oste-Alexander







Pia Oste-Alexander studied drawing and tapestry weaving at Konstfackskolan, State School of Applied Arts, Stockholm, Sweden; painting at Kungstgewerbeschule, Vienna, Austria; textile printing at the State Institute of Art, Florence, Italy; and printmaking at the Women's Studio Workshop, Rosendale NY. She was Artist-in-Residence at the Vermont Studio Center in both 2000 and 2001. Her work has received several awards including an award from the Ruth Cherven Foundation, Inc. She has exhibited internationally, recently participating in the 4th British International Miniature Print Exhibition, a traveling show, the 23rd National Guild Biennial, 1st and 2nd International Miniature Print Competition, NW Print Council Traveling Show. She had a retrospective at the Woodstock Artists Association in 1994. Ms. Oste-Alexander is represented by the Elena Zang Gallery, Shady NY.
