Keith Gunderson

 

 

Keith Gunderson has had the opportunity to study with many talented and original teachers, both in Chicago and in New York City. In Chicago and Florida he studied Artistic Anatomy and Core Drawing with George Sotos of Tree Studios. In Pasadena at the Art Center College of Design, he attended workshops with Harry Carmean . In New York City he studied at the National Academy of Art, The New York Academy, and the Art Students League of New York where he studied with Frank Mason, David Leffel, Harvey Dinnerstein, Robert Beverly Hale, Gustav Rehberger, and Nelson Shanks. He has a BFA from Empire State College.

Mr. Gunderson currently teaches popular classes in Plein-Aire Painting, Still Life Painting and Artistic Anatomy at the Barrett Art Center in Poughkeepsie. He also conducts workshops and painting demonstrations throughout the Northeast. Current and past member of the Salmagundi Club, NY and the Audubon Artists of America. His aim is to instill the concepts of volume and light in his students, providing a way to expression beyond mere imitation.
