Jon deMartin received a BFA from Pratt Institute. He studied with Michael Aviano, at the Art Students League of New York under Gustav Rehberger and Nelson Shanks and independently with Daniel Greene. Additionally, he trained in cast drawing with Millet Andrejevic and Edward Schmidt. Having studied at the Art Students League and the New York Academy, he has subsequently taught at both schools. His work has appeared in Art in America, Art News, Art & Antiques, and The Classicist. He has published an article on classical cast drawing for American Artist. He is represented by Hirschl & Adler, New York; Jon Pence Gallery, San Francisco; and The Classical Gallery, Alexandria VA. He is also an instructor at the Art Students League and the New York Academy.
